9. May 25, 19.30
Zaubersee
9th Philharmonic Concert

Description

Everything is under water when the sorcerer's apprentice, cleaning the witch's parlour, can no longer get rid of the spirits he summoned. With La Mer, Debussy guides us into maritime, seductive soundscapes. His symphonic poem was composed neither on the Atlantic nor on the Mediterranean, but on a vineyard in Burgundy. Rachmaninov wrote his 3rd Piano Concerto on the Ivanovka estate near the River Don, where he used to go fishing to relax.
